Hi, I'm Yasmeen and I offer counselling to Young People and adults in the Reading and Wokingham Area. Life has its ups and downs and in times of struggle we may not always want to share our deepest, painful, private feelings and thoughts with friends and family. It can be hard to make the initial step to talk to someone, I won't offer advice or tell you what to do. Instead, we will explore your thoughts and feelings together in a safe and confidential space to enable you to make sense of them.

About me and my practice
I am an Accredited BACP registered Person-Centred Therapist/Counsellor based in Berkshire. I also work online via zoom. Sessions can last up to 50 minutes.
I work combining Person Centred and Creative therapy and other approaches to suit each person. At the core of this therapeutic intervention is empathy and non-judgment - moving towards a trusting and warm therapeutic relationship.
The sessions are a combination of non-directive and directive depending on what needs to be explored. Using Axlines' Principles I am led by you - at times we may need to explore some elements of the past and how this may have impacted or shaped us. Our past can often help us to understand our present and patterns that we may feel stuck in or repeating what may no longer be positive. Hopefully in exploring and reflecting in a safe pace may enable you to move forward more freely.
The sessions can be face-to-face, via zoom or combination. We can agree if we feel this is long-term or short-term with an interim review session.
Experience
I have over 14 years of experience of working within a range of school and private settings. Working with young people starting from the age of 4yrs to adults.
I work with parents offering Parent Child Attachment Play intervention.
I work with various issues including anxiety, depression, eating disorder, trauma, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, loss, low mood - the list is extensive.

Initial Consultation
I offer a free 20 minute consultation session either remote or over the telephone. This gives us time to get to know each other a little, to explore what is needed and importantly a chance to see if I am someone you feel comfortable taking to, if so, we can agree a time and day to start the sessions.
